Sights to see in the town of St. Gallen

The entire St.Gallen Abbey District has been a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. The baroque cathedral is the town's landmark. The heart of the Abbey District is the Abbey Library, which contains books that are over 1,000 years old. More sights worth seeing: Art museum, textile museum, shopping trip to the old town and the Red Square City Lounge. Discover the "Gallus town" on a guided tour. There are also various themed tours on offer which can also be combined with a meal.

The harbour town of Rorschach

The harbour town of Rorschach tells stories of well-travelled merchants, the abbot's granary stewards, Italian female factory workers and regal summer guests in Rorschach-les-Bains. The bathing hut, built in 1924, is the only remaining building of its kind.

Foxtrail

Go on a scavenger hunt through St.Gallen. In order not to lose track of the fox, the teams (2-7 people) have to crack codes and find hidden messages along the way. On the trail, you will discover the town of St.Gallen and its surroundings. In St.Gallen, there are five different trails of varying lengths ranging from 2 to 4.5 hours.

The Alpstein area with the Säntis, Hoher Kasten and Ebenalp mountains, Wildkirchli caves and village of Appenzell

Hikes or excursions on Säntis, Eastern Switzerland's "own" mountain in the famous Alpstein region. With excursions on Ebenalp, you can stop off to visit Appenzell or the show dairy.

A leisurely drive to Stein am Rhein

Excursion to Arbon, Gottlieben and Stein am Rhein or Arenenberg Castle and the Napoleon Museum. Visit these picturesque little towns with their typical timber-framed buildings. Visit to the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe.

Excursion to Ittingen Charterhouse

Ittingen Charterhouse is a place of strength. A former Carthusian monastery and art museum of the canton of Thurgau with varying exhibitions. It's certainly a place worth visiting, about 80 minutes away by car. On the way, it's worth stopping off to enjoy St.Gallen and Frauenfeld.
